V1 I cling to the cross The everlasting covenant of God All else is but loss Compared with knowing Jesus' saving love C This is the hope that I have found There is life, there is freedom Bought on the cross with saving blood Jesus Christ, my redeemer V2 Now with unveiled eyes We understand the mystery of love We are one with Christ And drawn into the very life of God V3 One day we will wake All sorrow, pain and fear will simply fade We will only praise The all-surpassing glory of his name Words and music by Chris Juby © 2004 Chris Juby - www.chrisjuby.com CCLI song #4685959

V1 In the silence of beginning Spoke the love prepared to pay So the wellspring of creation Was the Lamb, eternal, slain In the glory of the Godhead As the universe was made Was the promise of redemption In the Lamb, eternal, slain V2 From the blood of righteous Abel As the world gave way to hate Every sin cried out for vengeance For the Lamb, eternal, slain By the code of temple worship Sacrifice of blood was made In that sacrifice, the shadow Of the Lamb, eternal, slain V3 On the cross, in desolation As he bore our sins away Hear his prayer “Father, forgive them” See the Lamb, eternal, slain Through his blood we have forgiveness For he died to take our place Death itself has been defeated By the Lamb, eternal, slain V4 Now alive in risen glory Though the wounds of love remain Holding out the Father’s mercy Know the Lamb, eternal, slain When that final kingdom trumpet Heralds his triumphant reign We will worship him forever Hail the Lamb, eternal, slain OUTRO We will worship him forever We will worship him forever We will worship him forever Christ the Lamb, eternal, slain Words and music by Chris Juby © 2009 Chris Juby - www.chrisjuby.com CCLI song #5757123

V1 I waited for the Lord He turned and heard my cry He took me from the pit of my despair He set me on a rock He made my way secure He put a song of worship on my lips C I will trust in you, the everlasting God And your praise will be my song For your endless love is strong in my defence And though my heart may fail, I'll trust in you V2 Your ways are glorious Your thoughts are far above And many are the wonders of your hands Your word is on my heart Your truth is my delight And I will not restrain my song of thanks OUTRO I will trust in you, everlasting God Though my heart may fail Still my soul will say I will trust in you I will trust in you, everlasting God Till the darkness breaks Into glorious day I will trust in you Words and music by Chris Juby © 2013 Chris Juby - www.chrisjuby.com CCLI song #6083054

V1 We will trust in God our Saviour God our refuge, God our peace We will shelter in your unchanging love For your goodness is a fortress Great in mercy, strong in grace In our weakness we will look to you, Lord C God Almighty God eternal You are faithful, you are true Never ending Never failing God of all, we look to you V2 You have promised to defend us Through the battle, through the storm We will hold on to your unchanging word For your hope is everlasting And your purpose ever sure In our weakness we will look to you, Lord Words and music by Chris Juby © 2013 Chris Juby - www.chrisjuby.com CCLI song #6592150

V We have known forgiveness God has shown us mercy Rescued us from darkness Safe into the Kingdom We have heard the gospel Bringing our salvation By the blood of Jesus We've been given freedom C So, Father, we will live to honour you Growing in the knowledge of your truth Fill us with your grace and make us new, make us new We will bear you fruit in doing good Strengthen us with power to make it through We will bring you praise and honour you, honour you B For if the Son has set us free Then surely we are free indeed Words and music by Chris Juby © 2013 Chris Juby - www.chrisjuby.com CCLI song #5757116

about

A debut EP of congregational worship songs by Chris Juby, director of worship at King's Church in Durham, England.

Five tracks ranging in style from the theological panorama of contemporary hymn 'In the silence of beginning', via an alt-rock reading of Psalm 40 'I waited for the Lord', to a Gospel-infused paraphrase of Colossians 1 'We have known forgiveness'.

These recorded arrangements are probably more ambitious than necessary for a Sunday morning, but each song is written to be sung in local churches.

The unifying theme is the everlasting hope we have in Christ.
